About this event
This e-learning is the first of two in the Preventive Health Network training series. It introduces a powerful, evidence-based approach to communication grounded in trust, curiosity, and partnership. You’ll learn how to build collaborative relationships, apply core skills from Motivational Interviewing, and engage patients in conversations that support positive behavior change. Whether you're working in behavioral health, primary care, or community outreach, these skills help create more meaningful, effective interactions. This course was made possible through the work of the Coalition for Better Health, whose efforts to strengthen preventive health communication laid the foundation for the Preventive Health Network training series. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. To receive credit, participants must complete the entire training and all required components. Successful completion will result in the awarding of 4 ANCC contact hours.
