About this event
Regulation is the foundation of safe, ethical, and high-quality nursing practice, shaping everything from individual care delivery to organizational accountability. This e-learning module, Beyond Compliance: Regulation and Leadership in Nursing, equips nurse leaders at all levels to navigate the regulatory environment with confidence and strategic intent. Learners will explore key regulatory bodies and frameworks while developing a clear understanding of licensure, scope of practice, certification, and continuing competence requirements. The course emphasizes the nurse leader’s role in translating regulation into practice by strengthening compliance, reducing risk, and supporting ethical decision-making across clinical settings. Designed for emerging and experienced leaders alike, this module reframes regulation as a leadership tool for improving patient safety, protecting professional practice, and strengthening organizational performance. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.5 ANCC contact hours.
