About this event
Acne vulgaris is one of the most common inflammatory skin conditions encountered in clinical practice, affecting patients across the lifespan. This self-paced e-learning module provides healthcare professionals with a practical introduction to the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and management of acne vulgaris. Learners will explore key risk factors, lesion types, and severity classification while developing skills to accurately assess and differentiate presentations. The course also reviews evidence-based treatment strategies tailored to disease severity and individual patient needs, along with recognition of complications and appropriate referral criteria. Designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals, this module strengthens confidence in delivering effective, patient-centered dermatologic care. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete the entire module and achieve a score of 80% or higher on the post-quiz. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 0.5 ANCC contact hours.
