About this event
Effective nurse leadership in today’s healthcare environment requires more than clinical expertise—it demands strong people management and strategic human resources skills. This e-learning module, Building and Retaining Strong Nursing Teams: Human Resources Management for Nurse Leaders, prepares nurse leaders to strengthen team performance through intentional recruitment, retention, engagement, and performance management strategies. Learners will explore the full employee lifecycle, including hiring practices, performance feedback, conflict resolution, and approaches to improving staff motivation and retention. The course also highlights legal and ethical considerations that guide responsible HR decision-making in healthcare settings. Designed for nurse leaders at all levels, this module equips participants to build resilient, high-performing teams that support patient safety, staff well-being, and organizational success. Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. To earn continuing education credit, participants must complete both the Nurse Leader pre-assessment and post-assessment. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded 1.0 ANCC contact hours.
