About this event
Description
A Rock Steady volunteer aide assists coaches in running specialized fitness classes for individuals with Parkinson's disease. They ensure participant safety, help set up equipment, provide physical assistance, and offer encouragement so participants can safely complete their non-contact boxing workouts.Volunteers typically take on the following responsibilities:
- Safety & Spotting: Guiding participants through movements, ensuring they have proper balance, and assisting them to avoid falls.
- Equipment Setup: Helping coaches arrange punching bags, mats, gloves, and other exercise gear before the class starts.
- In-Class Assistance: Partnering with individual boxers to help them with drills, track their routines, or adjust their boxing pads.
- Moral Support: Creating a fun, high-energy, and positive environment to motivate boxers as they fight their symptoms.
