Description

Collaborative cornucopias are group-assembled “horns of plenty” care packages symbolizing abundance and gratitude. This community project offered during the season of giving thanks allows participants the opportunity to assemble and create the contents of these care packages. Recipients of these Wellness and Support cornucopias include residents of the Community Living Center at the Veteran's Hospital, residents of Lucy Coor Assisted Living, and individuals receiving services from the Oregon Hill Baptist Center. Donations for this project can be dropped off prior to November 19 at Chesterfield Baptist Church, 16530 Hull Street Road, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Here is the list of donations and number needed:
(1) Community Living Center at the Veterans Administration Hospital (31 residents - 27 men and 4 women)

• Socks
• Hygiene products (body wash, lotion, and deodorant)
• Sugar free candy
• Non-perishable comfort items (wash cloths, slippers, reading glasses, etc.)
• Uplifting notes

(2) Lucy Coor Assisted Living (48 residents - 36 women and 12 men)

• Socks
• Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand lotion, hand soap)
• Large print activity books (word finds, sudoku, crosswords)
• Wash cloths
• Uplifting notes

(3) Oregon Hill Baptist Center (80-100 people served)

• Nonperishable Food (ex. pop-top/tab items, crackers, soft cereal bars, gum/mints)
• Cold Weather Items (Adult knit gloves, Adult knit hats, Hot Hands)
• Hygiene Products (small pack tissues, small lotions, deodorant, etc.)
• Uplifting Notes
