Description

Participants will be tested on the first day of class and placed in one of the skill levels listed below based on their ability.

Six 30-minute lessons.

Skill Levels

Level 1 – The student must be willing to separate from their parent or caregiver. This class is designed to reduce the student’s fear of water and teach preliminary skills for assuming swimming position and movement.

Level 2 – This class is for students who are already adjusted to the water. Students must be able to submerge for 3 seconds and float on their front and back independently.

Level 3 – This class is for students who can already swim using a combined stroke on their front and back, with a kick and arm stroke for a minimum of 5 meters.

Level 4 – This class is for students who can already swim a coordinated front and back crawl for 15 yards and are comfortable in deep water. Participants will build endurance and learn the techniques needed to swim farther distances and pass the swim test. (25-meter swim and 60 seconds treading water)
