About this event
Instructor Suzette East Food connects us to our history, and art brings those memories to life. In this unique studio course, students will transform their favorite or family-heirloom recipes into a beautifully hand-crafted, illustrated cookbook. Combining the precise elegance of calligraphy with dynamic drawing techniques, you will learn to visually capture the flavors and stories behind your most cherished dishes. Through guided exercises, you’ll master watercolor pencil blending, fine-line ink detailing, and elegant lettering to create stunning, personalized recipe pages. Perfect for all skill levels, this course offers a creative, delicious way to preserve your culinary heritage for generations to come under the guidance of locally renowned artist Suzette East. Supplies Needed: 2H & 4H graphite pencils, assorted watercolor pencils, watercolors, permanent fine line pens (black, brown, or sepia), liner brush, small short round brush, large watercolor brush, water bin, odorless turpentine, tortillions, kneaded eraser, and a 9x12 (or larger) smooth bristol or mixed media pad. At the end of the registration, a pop up will appear for something called Active Advantage. This is not part of our program. It does not provide benefits for our students and it does not affect your enrollment in any way. Please click no and complete your registration. If you click yes by mistake, please contact PVAEC as soon as possible so we can help you cancel it.
