Over three one-hour classes, students will learn hands-on cooking skills while discovering the fascinating science behind what makes food delicious. Day 1: Perfect Pancakes – Master the art of fluffy, golden pancakes and learn the chemistry of leavening and heat. Day 2: Gourmet Grilled Cheese – Take this comfort food classic to the next level with creative flavor combinations and discover the science of melting cheese. Day 3: Baked Ziti – Create a hearty, crowd-pleasing pasta dish and explore how heat transforms ingredients in the oven. Each class combines cooking techniques, food science, and kitchen safety—plus you'll learn plating tips to make your meals look restaurant-worthy. No experience needed, just enthusiasm and a desire to make your parents smile! This class is taught by Gabi Ruvalcaba '24. Gabi enjoys baking and creating special meals for her family, and she's had the opportunity to share her cooking with others who have requested her dishes.
