About this event
Model United Nations, run by DEDIMUS POTESTATEM, is a fun and exciting way to learn about countries, people, and events worldwide. Students roleplay as delegates from a country of their choice and learn to write and deliver presentations on issues they are passionate about–just as if they were representing member states of the united nations. Students use debate and negotiation to enlist the support of other delegates for solutions to crises and problems facing the world. Model UN is a wonderful way to teach students leadership skills like communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and delegation. We emphasize social and emotional empathy, active listening, and negotiation based on mutual benefit and interests. High school sessions will be Tuesdays from 4–5:00 PM and middle school sessions will be Wednesdays 4–5:00 PM.
