About this event

Description

Join us for a special evening of mindfulness-based storytelling – where practice meets real life (and real humans).
Learning about mindfulness is one thing. Slowing down enough to actually live it is another. This relaxed, engaging evening invites stories about pausing, noticing, and softening our pace – and what happens when we do…or don’t. Together we’ll share moments of insight, compassion, and connection, along with relatable stories of realizing – often only after the fact – that slowing down might have helped.
UW Health MBSR instructors will start things off with stories from their own lives. Optional opportunities for anyone present to step into small versions of storytelling will be offered. Come listen, reflect, laugh, and connect as we explore what it truly means to slow down and live mindfulness, one story at a time.
“We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling.” - Jimmy Neil Smith, founder, International Storytelling Center
