Description

Join our partners at Allen Centennial Gardens for a morning of artful exploration. Flower pounding is exactly what it sounds like and uses flowers, fruits, and leaves to create floral patterns in fabric. We love flower pounding because its easy to make remarkable patterns on your first try. Participants will hammer on a cotton bandanna and small tote bag. Follow our pattern or create your own flowery, pulpy vision. This class is for participants 18 years of age and older.
NOTE: This class meets off-site at Allen Centennial Gardens located at 620 Babcock Drive. Please read on for additional information about parking:The Gardens recommend navigating to the Observatory Drive and Babcock Drive Corner. Plan to head north on Babcock Drive where the garden's entrance is located. You are welcome to drop off in the circle, but you are not allowed to park there.
Free street parking can be found on the weekends near the Garden on Babcock Drive (lot 34), near Porter Boathouse on Babcock Drive (lot 35), and near Babcock Dairy (lot 40). More information about parking on campus can be found here.
Class will be held rain or shine. Please dress to be outside and in a garden space.
In the event of inclement weather, class will be held at Wheelhouse Studios. Should this arise before the start of the program, participants will be notified via email two hours prior to the event. If the weather looks unfavorable, please check your email before heading out. All the needed plant materials will be brought to Wheelhouse Studios located at 800 Langdon St.. If class is held at Wheelhouse Studios, parking may be available in the Helen C. White Lot (Lot 6) or along Langdon Street.
