Taught by John Cavazos, who has a very long and impressive professional performing resume as well as being a current college professor and private vocal coach this six-hour class will address the ins and outs of the audition process. First half of class is discussing audition techniques, like how to walk into the room, what to wear, how to pick a song, how to address the people behind the desk. After lunch break given time to work on song selection and then present to a professional panel. A professional accompanist is on hand to play song selection. (Note will need sheet music) Panel then analyzes song and gives feedback. Next a mock callback for a pre-selected show, followed by a “dance call” to make it a full audition scenario. Lastly cast is chosen and students learn why, or why not a part was awarded.
