Featuring classic songs such as “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and the title song, it captured audiences around the world and earned five Tony Awards and five Oscars. Based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, the story follows a spirited postulant who becomes governess to Captain von Trapp’s seven children, bringing music and warmth to their home. As Nazism spreads across Austria, Maria and the von Trapp family must make a difficult moral choice.
