Life can sometimes feel like a never-ending loop - you wake up, go to work, run errands, go to sleep. Wash, rinse, and repeat. But every day holds the potential for adventure. Join Jug Bay for a Micro-Adventure paddle. These are adventures that are designed to be easily fit into busy schedules. A quick day trip or overnight experience that breaks the everyday grind and rejuvenates the soul. Participants will be shuttled from Emory Waters to the launch at Queen Anne Canoe Launch. We will paddle 11 miles to the take out at Emory Waters. The first 5 miles is a narrow section of the river that is mostly tree lined and usually protected from wind, with the current flowing downstream with us. The next 6 miles opens up to beautiful, lush wetlands where there could be tide, wind, and sun exposure. Fee includes naturalist kayak guides, all kayak equipment, shuttle, and park admission. Kayak experience required.The Patuxent River is a relatively slow-moving river, but paddlers must be able to propel the canoe through the water. Participants must be able to:• Independently participate in all activities while maintaining an appropriate and safe body position.• Manage all personal care and personal mobility independently.• Effectively communicate with leaders and other participants.For your safety you are required to have plenty of water (at least 32 oz pp), sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, closed toe shoes that can get wet and lunch/snacks. If you lack any of these items, we may deny you participation! Prompt program start time so please arrive by 7:45 am. Ages: 18 and older. Fee: $40. No refunds after 8/8/26.
