Adventure Guides launch parents and their children on a journey of discovery, with the child as the explorer and the parent as the guide. The program emphasizes the YMCA's belief that parental involvement plays a vital, positive role in a child's development.

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of pinewood racing with your child! Have your child build their very own car and race against fellow Adventure Guides. YMCA Pinewood Derbies are opportunities for parents and kids to spend time together being creative designing and decorating their pinewood racers! While crafting their cars, kids can learn basic STEM concepts like aerodynamics and potential energy converting to kinetic energy...Who knows? Maybe pinewood derby will inspire a future engineer!
