What's the plan, you ask??Board our cushy Whitecastle motorcoach and head East, to Sierra Foothill country!
First destination: early LUNCH!! At the lovely Clubhouse at Woodcreek Golf Club, Roseville (lunch included in cost)2nd stop: Happy Days Winery and Mandarin Hill, Penryn
We start out our day in Roseville to behold the beautiful grounds and banquet room at the Clubhouse at Woodcreek Golf Club.
Here, you will enjoy a delectable hosted buffet lunch featuring: -Chicken Piccata w/Chardonnay Lemon Caper Cream Sauce; -Slow Roasted Marinated Tri-Tip in a Mushroom Cabernet Demi-Glaze; -Woodcreek Salad w/Dried Cranberries, Bleu Cheese Crumbles & Honey Poppyseed Vinaigrette ;-Herb Roasted New Potatoes; and -Penne Pasta tossed with Sundried Tomato Cream Sauce.
After a yummy experience at the Golf Club, hop back on the motorcoach to trek a few more miles to the beautifully serene property nestled in the foothills below Auburn...Happy Dayz Winery and Mandarin Hill Orchards.
You'll be greeted with your first taste of wine on the tasting menu, cheerfully poured by Rick Kennedy, Placer County native and winemaker /owner of the winery. You can enjoy the quiet lawn setting with a magnificent view of the valley, or relax inside the house as you sample your flight of Happy Dayz wines.10% wine discount for shoppers on the bus during our visit!
Rick and his father-in-law will guide you through a short walking tour of the lofty mandarin orchards and narrate their story and history in Placer County.
Mandarin season is currently over until late Fall, but you will be inspired to return in November to sample and purchase the wonderful and coveted mandarins from Mandarin Hill Orchards.
