Gather around a campfire at one of your favorite parks this fall for a series of engaging and informative chats. Each week Park Rangers and local experts will lead discussions on a different theme, exploring topics about conservation, history, culture, music, and more. Bring a portable camp chair and share s’mores and stories by the fire, or sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening.
Explore the glowing truth of how fires behave across the Old Line State’s forests. Hear about fire’s role in nature and restoring a healthy nature. Learn about the surprising history of local fire management, from historic lookout towers to modern day prescribed burns. See tools and strategies Maryland Forest Services use while they share tips on fire safety and prevention measures. You’ll be heating up as the fire cools down to the touch.
