Welcome to the Turpin Monthly Pistol Challenge, a recurring handgun showcase hosted at the Turpin Outdoor Education Center. This event is designed for shooters of all experience levels who enjoy variety, friendly competition, and tracking their personal marksmanship goals.
Unlike rigid leagues that require an all-season commitment, this challenge features completely independent, stand-alone monthly matches. You can sign up for one specific month, skip a month, or join us every time. Enjoy a fresh test of skill every single month.
The Format: A Rotating Showcase of Marksmanship
Every month, our instructors design a completely unique Course of Fire to keep things exciting and dynamic. You will never shoot the same match twice in a row.
Matches are built around diverse target arrays and varying distances to highlight different shooting fundamentals:
• Precision Target Months: Focus on tight groupings, bullseye scoring, and ultimate trigger control at extended indoor distances.
• Speed and Accuracy Months: Focus on the fun and rhythm of clean sight transitions across static targets.
• The Variety Mixer: Features a blend of paper targets, geometric shapes, and custom challenge brackets designed to test your focus and adaptability.
Match Structure & Rules
• Stand-Alone Scoring: Every Night will end with participants knowing their scores and potential standing amongst others attending.
• First Thursday of Each Month, 5:30-7:30pm
• Divisions: Will depend on the string of fire.
Round Count
• Maximin Round count per event will be 100 rounds. Minimum round count will be 30 rounds.
