About this event
Hank Gevedon is a Kentucky master craftsman, toolmaker, teacher, blacksmith, and author of Bare Bones Toolmakers' Apprentices Vol. 1., is at Newton's Attic! Hank has spent decades teaching people how to begin making real tools with simple materials, curiosity, and a willingness to pick up a hammer. His book is built around practical beginner projects that help students learn the foundations of craftsmanship without needing a full blacksmith shop. During this special Friday afternoon, students will learn about cold work, a metalworking process that shapes metal without heat. Each student will make a cold-pressed nickel arrowhead to take home. They will also help Hank cook a fried rice lunch, hear stories from a working craftsman, ask questions, and receive an autographed copy of Hank’s book. Want an afternoon class all week? Add Special Addition: Metal Work & Forging, taught by Michael Noss. This special Friday experience is included in the price of that class.
