About this event
Viking 6 Tactical — Critical Incident Response Training Precision Retention Shooting for the Armed Citizen — Beginner Pistol Length: 6 hours (Indoor Range — The Gun Shop & Gun Range) Are you ready to move beyond static range drills and train for what really matters in a hostile, high-stress encounter? This intensive 6-hour course combines classroom, hands-on retention work, and live-fire application to teach you how to keep control of your pistol and deliver accurate, decisive shots when the situation is chaotic. What makes this course different? Many defensive encounters are dynamic and physical, you must not only shoot well, you must retain and control your firearm while under stress, near others, and while moving. Our Precision Retention curriculum teaches you that blend of skills so you can remain the best chance for your family’s safety. Course Breakdown • 3-Hour Classroom & Drill Session: Learn the mechanics and mindset of Precision Retention Shooting. We cover proper grip under stress, compression and retention drills, weapon presentation and re-presentation, close-quarters muzzle awareness, and practical retention techniques used when an assailant is in contact or grappling for your gun. Students practice dry-fire drills to build safe, repeatable motor patterns. • 3-Hour Live-Fire Range Evolution: Start with fundamentals to sharpen accuracy, then progress to dynamic transitions, multiple targets, movement, weapon re-presentation, and shooting until the threat ends (no preplanned single-round counts). Emphasis is on controlled, accurate follow-up shots, muzzle discipline, and maintaining retention while reloading and moving. Course Requirements & Logistics • Ammunition: 300 rounds required (bring quality defensive-type ammo). • Gear: Holster (only for dry fire training), at least 3 magazines, eye & ear protection, comfortable range clothing (no open shirts or open toed shoes). • Firearm Rentals: Available by advance coordination, contact 802-349-8080 before
