About this event

The Lander Upsidedown Triathlon is part of the WY Tri Series and offers an opportunity for first-timers to get their feet wet and for veterans to shake off the cobwebs and race. With Sprint and Kids' options, there is something for nearly everyone in the family. You can even team up to race with two or three teammates.

Because of the variety of disciplines, triathlon training will help you get fit while having fun like few other pursuits. And you can train while safely socially distant. But be warned - triathlon can be addicting!

Compete as an individual or form a team of 2 or 3 people. Make it a family event and help your kids finish the Kids' Tri.

DISTANCES:
SPRINT: 5k Run, 31k Bike, 600yard Swim
KIDS' TRIATHLON: 0.5mile Run, 3.1mile Bike, 50yard Swim

SCHEDULE:
Friday, June 18, 5-8pm - Packet pick-up and Free Pasta Dinner for participants
Saturday, June 19:
5:30am - Check-in opens
7am - Sprint start
10am - Kids race start
11am - Awards

REGISTRATION:
Entry fee depends on your race. Please see Active.com for details.
Registration prices increase in June.
Registration DEADLINE Thursday, June 17, 2021.

COURSE:

See pictures for maps of race course. The bike course will be about half a mile longer than pictured as the u-turn has been moved to where the road is flanked by pull-outs, for safety reasons.

The Swim in the Bruce Gresly Aquatic Center will be a serpentine, down and back in each of the six lanes, from the shallow corner closest to the pool office to the lane that runs along the deep end, twice.

For the Kids' Triathlon: The swim will be in the lane closest to the deep end (unless a participant needs to be beside the wall); floaties permitted!

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Running shoes and clothes
  • Bike, helmet, pump and repair kit
  • Bike shoes and clothes
  • Swim suit, goggles, cap (if desired)
  • Chair or stool, towel, etc., for transition area
  • Hydration and nutrition supplies as desired (water, energy drink and snacks; there will be water only available on the course)
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Post-race clothes, shower supplies, towel
  • Great attitude and friendly, competitive, flexible spirit

RECOMMENDED RACE GOALS:
1. Start
2. Finish (safely!)
3. Have fun
