Step outside your comfort zone and experience the true spirit of service during St. Edward High School's Jamaica Service Immersion. This unforgettable week-long experience invites Edsmen to live out the Holy Cross mission by serving alongside the people of the Diocese of Mandeville. After flying into Kingston or Montego Bay, students will travel to Mandeville, where each day brings a new opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Working alongside local ministries, participants may visit the Sisters of Charity Mission (Saint Mother Teresa Community) to spend time with the sick, serve at Mustard Seed Communities, a home for children with disabilities, assist with outreach programs that support local families, and visit St. John Bosco Boys' Home to learn about its ministry and serve its residents. Beyond service, students will experience the beauty and hospitality of Jamaica. The itinerary includes time to relax and build friendships while exploring the island, with opportunities to enjoy a day at the beach or visit YS Falls, one of Jamaica's most spectacular natural attractions. Throughout the week, students will reflect on their experiences, deepen their faith, and discover what it means to be a compassionate global citizen. They will stay at the Dunsinane Marian Retreat Centre, which provides comfortable accommodations, full-time security, and transportation with a dedicated local driver.
