Intro to Ceramics Wheel Throwing with Morin Bissonette Weds and Fridays 5-7:30 4/15 - 5/22 Come and get your hands dirty in the ceramics studio! This class is specifically for beginners Students will learn the basic skills of throwing and create a cylinder, mug, and bowl. Students will also learn the operations of a pottery studio and develop a foundational understanding of pottery terminology and process. Some skills covered: ● Basic concepts of the stages of clay ● Centering ● Throwing cylinder, mug, and bowl ● pulling handles ● slip and scoring ...and more! Students will be provided with • Fresh clay • Access to traditional throwing and trimming tools • Space in our kilns to fire pots • Use of shop glazes Additional materials are available for a fee. Ceramics Open Studio Monthly passes are available for experienced students to access the ceramics studio for independent outside-of-class worktime.
