About this event
Join David, a local historian and tour guide for the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company as he brings history alive with specificity and wit. His slide talk will illuminate the lives of Isles of Shoals poet, Celia Thaxter; South Berwick author, Sarah Orne Jewett; and peace activist and founder of the Green Acre spiritual community and school in Eliot, Sarah Farmer. Local Historian – Narrator – Storyteller David brings history to life with wit and humor, talking about events and people from early American Colonial up to recent times. He brings to life people and little-known events that brought wealth, honor, literary fame, and recognition to the Piscataqua region, Maine, and Northern New England. During the summer he works as a tour guide/narrator for the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company on the Motor Vessel Thomas Laighton and for Historic New England as tour guide at the Sarah Orne Jewett House in South Berwick, Maine.
