This 18-month apprenticeship program will provide paid, on-the-job training and 60 college credits at no cost to the student. Apprentices will work full-time as paid/benefited employees in a partnering school district alongside a mentor. Apprentices will also receive blended classroom and online instruction at YCCC with an emphasis on Special Education. Upon successful completion of the program, participants may apply for their Ed Tech II certification from the Maine Department of Education. Your local adult education can provide a variety of supportive services--applying for the internship, selecting an employer, mastering course materials–to prepare you for a valuable, rewarding new career in education.
