2026 marks the return of the Popoi'a Swim race! This iconic 1.5-mile swim around Popoia Island (Flat Island), located off Kailua Beach on the windward side of Oʻahu, offers a beautiful blend of scenic swimming and open-water adventure.

If you’re looking for a shorter option, the 0.5-mile buoy swim is a great choice for those who prefer a more relaxed distance while still enjoying the fun and energy of race day.

Hosted by the Kailua Masters Swim Club, this community event is a chance to connect with fellow swimmers who share your love of activity and the ocean. We’re thrilled to bring this beloved event back after a six-year hiatus and can’t wait to see you at the starting line!

RACE DAY CHECK IN FROM 6.30AM.

RACE START AT 8AM. 

CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES 24th APRIL 2026

NO REFUNDS: Please note we are a volunteer-run organization. We will make every effort to accomodate certain exceptions, with no guarantees. 

RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Will be allowed. $80, 1.5m Popoia race; $50, 0.5m Buoyline race. No garuntee of shirts or goodie bags!

EQUIPMENT: Goggles, masks & snorkel permitted. No hand paddles, wet suits. Bright colored swim caps are required to race. Fins may be worn but swimmers will not be eligible for awards.
