About this event
PAs will grow their leadership skills by planning and leading multiple activities—including a full activity session—for younger Girl Scouts. You’ll practice being a role model and engaging different age groups along the way. This is an entry-level camp leadership position. * Note, the Program Aide Training was formerly " Leader in Training"- we have renamed the program this year. Earn your Program Aide award and practice leading songs, games, and crafts, while gaining practical tips for working with groups. Explore your favorite camp activities like the challenge course and archery range. This program is a great start for your leadership journey at camp and beyond. Prerequisites for PAs To participate as a Program Aide (PA), you must meet the following requirements: You must be entering grades 6-8. PAs will complete a meet and greet interview with the Camp Director and/or Teen Leadership Coordinator after registration. This is an introduction to the PA program. Participation in the PA training, held during the third week of sleepaway camp, is mandatory for new PAs only. New this year – To simplify the registration process, PAs register for the sleepaway camp "in action" week you wish to volunteer. The Camp director and Teen Leadership Coordinator will collaborate with PAs to place you with a specific program based on your interests and the needs of the campers. NOTE: If all prerequisites have not been met to qualify as a PA, your camp PA registration will be cancelled.
