The Wayne County Grand Slam Tournament returns for another run September 17 and 18 at Jaycee Fair Grounds. Registration - $50 per angler; minimum $100 per boat. One youth free to fish with each adult entry. Fish for catfish, pan fish, mud fish, largemouth bass, and/or gar. Each team will weigh in 3 of the 5 species of fish for an aggregate weight to determine tournament winners.
Tournament hours: 12:00 noon Saturday, September 17 to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18. Boats must be at weigh-in by 12:00 noon Sunday. Weigh in hours are Saturday until 10pm and Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Fishermen can fish anywhere on the Altamaha and its tributaries they have legal permission to fish. For this tournament only, two bush hooks allowed per fisherman with the hooks clearly tagged and removed prior to weigh-in.
In-person registration is available Saturday morning at the Jaycee Fair Building beginning at 8:00 a.m. Entry fee must be paid prior to fishing.
*Online registration will close at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16th, to allow the staff time to process registrations before moving out to tournament headquarters at the Jaycee Fairgrounds.
