Have you ever wanted to try watercolor painting, but weren't sure where to start? This class offers a fun, relaxed introduction to watercolor--no experience required. Just bring your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn! Over seven sessions we'll explore:• Simple sketching and composition to create balanced, engaging paintings.• Color mixing, blending & water control to achieve various shades and strengths.• Brush techniques for washes, details and finishes.• Layering to create depth and richness.• Experimenting with various mediums to achieve texture.• Using colored pencils, acrylics or gouache to add vibrancy and opacity.By the end of the series, you will have a solid foundation in watercolor techniques and be ready to create your own finished pieces. ICSC will supply watercolor paper, brushes, and paint for use during class and at home throughout the sessions. All supplies must be returned at the completion of the course.
Fee: $80 ($60 for those with ICSC's low-income membership program). Pay instructor at first class. Instructor: Rebecca Mathews
