Healing Through Clay: Ceramic Workshop for Rheumatic Conditions
Discover what can happen when creativity, connection, and wellness come together. Healing Through Clay is a supportive, hands-on ceramics workshop for people living with arthritis and other rheumatic conditions. Through gentle hand-building techniques, participants will work with clay in ways that exercise the hands, encourage dexterity and mobility, and provide an enjoyable creative outlet.
Led by ceramic artist Perla Camacho Jimenez, who brings her own lived experience with rheumatoid arthritis to the workshop, sessions offer plenty of individualized guidance as you explore different ways of shaping and creating with clay. Along the way, there is also space to connect, share experiences, and learn from others who understand the challenges of living with chronic pain and changing physical abilities. Perla's original workshop grew from her own desire to find community after her diagnosis and has become a place where participants can create alongside others who understand.
No previous ceramics experience is needed. Come as you are, work at your own pace, and experience the satisfaction of turning a piece of clay into something uniquely yours.
