Description
Join us for a fun evening of 3-on-3 basketball sponsored by Community Violence Intervention – Johnson County.Open to youth completing 6th–11th grade. Register as an individual. Players should arrive by 5:30 p.m. for check-in and warm-ups. Teams will be assigned before play begins at 6:00 p.m.
The tournament will include multiple games, with each game played to 11 points. Spectators are welcome to attend and cheer on the teams!
Player Information and EligibilityEach team must have 3 to 4 players on their roster and be signed up as individuals by the pre-determined entry deadline 7/28/26. Players are allowed to sign up 30 minutes before event starts at 6p. Additions and/or changes on rosters are permitted 1 hour prior to the tournament time.
Players may appear on only one team roster for tournament. Any player appearing on more than one 1 team roster may be disqualified from participation in that tournament.
As a rule, teams are split into male and female divisions or coed depending on how many participants there are for the tournament. By analysis considering the average age, grade in school, and height of the players.
Eligibility problems will be enforced from point of discovery. No reply of games or adjustments will be allowed for previous contests and standing involving the team in question.
Pre-GameAll games may start and be completed with any number of players up to 3 on court at a time.Both teams will warm up 10 to 15 min prior to the start of the game.Only those teams scheduled to play are allowed to occupy the court at the scheduled time.First games will begin at 6p.
Special Note:CVI suggests that you be at your court 15 minutes before the scheduled game time and stay there until game is played. Teams must be at their court at the scheduled game time, even if games are “Running behind” for any reason (slow play, random occurrences) The final point of reference for scheduling procedures shall be the Bracket Area. The teams will be notified about scheduling information but need to be in the game area for updates. Teams will be called for game time. If teams don’t show up for game when announced, team will be disqualified or moved to the 2nd bracket forfeiting to loss.
Time Limit/ScoringA field goal is worth 1 pointA successful goal from behind a designated 3-point line is worth 2 points. The player shooting must have feet completely behind the line when initiating the attempt.Games will be run until one team reaches 11 points. Team must win by two points to secure victory. Winning teams will move up the bracket potentially reaching the final game at the end of the tournament.
Round Robin TournamentRound Robin style play will give all teams an equal number of games to play during the tournament. The team with the best overall record at the end of the tournament will be declared the winner of the event.
There will be snacks and drinks available during the tournament for participants.Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams at the end of the tournament.
FOWLS/PENALTIESFowls and/or rough housing will not be allowed during the tournament. Monitors on courts will warn players 1 time to keep rough housing to a minimum. If team players are warned again, team members will be removed from the game causing disqualification of entire team or 4th player will replace that team player that has been removed. We are displaying fun and maturity of all ages. We want everyone to be safe and enjoy their experience.
