This “Cheer Me Up” workshop will be a fun, hands-on handbuilding experience where we’ll collaboratively create meaningful totems to commemorate the flood, as well as the life and work of Gary Huntoon, a friend of HCAF.  Each participant will also create a personal totem to take home, reflecting their own creativity and meaning. We’ll explore new techniques, including the use of the extruder, sprigs, and sculptural approaches, making each totem unique, expressive, and enjoyable to create. This five-day workshop will include planning, creating and making, decoration and glazing, firing of the totem pieces and ultimately building and placing the totems on the grounds of HCAF.
