Description
Yoga and Meditation for Everyday People
Join Indy Community Yoga and friends for a gentle, beginner friendly, evening yoga practice at Highland Park (1100 E. New York St.) where we explore natural, intuitive movement at a pace that feels welcome to your body. After movement, we will sit quietly for a short silent meditation practice, allowing ourselves to simply be one another with nature. There is nothing to achieve or attain during the silent practice. Sitting, standing, and/or lying down is welcome. We will end practice with time for reflection, sharing, and community connection. No prior experience or knowledge is necessary.
Participants should bring a yoga mat or large towel to sit on during the class.
About the instructor:
Laura Drascic (she/her)
Hi there! My name is Laura, an Indianapolis community member, neighbor, and yoga practitioner. I find inspiration from the natural, organic, everyday movements that feel nourishing to the body, mind, and heart. The practices I lead typically have influence from my own personal practices of somatics, dance, yoga, qi gong, and meditation. I enjoy exploring spaces of movement and stillness that allow compassion, sillines, inention, and self-inquiry to flow. I have completed two formal trainings in yoga, but have been taught by, and continue to learn from, the people in my life I love, my community, the lived-experiences of others, nature, and history. Everything and everyone has the possibility to be a teacher to me.
Bring towel or yoga mat.
