Join OC Assistant Manager Donna (Level II Certified Cybertracker North America) and Professional Wildlife Tracker, Sandy Reed, for a Track and Sign Scavenger Hunt! This activity is designed for ages 12+, accompanied by their guardian.

Get ready to head outdoors for a fun and engaging exploration of the water’s edge as we search for wildlife tracks and sign!

No previous experience or knowledge is necessary. All you need is a willingness to observe, ask questions, and make your best guess about what we find. Along the way, we may encounter all kinds of animal sign, including tracks, nests, chews, scat, beds, feathers, bones, and other clues left behind by wildlife.

When we discover a mystery, everyone will have a chance to make their own identification before we work together to solve it. We’ll then take a closer look at the evidence and learn how to accurately identify the track or sign, giving you skills you can use on your own in the future.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared to encounter mud, water, and uneven terrain.

By the end of the activity, you’ll have a better understanding of how to read the landscape and a whole new appreciation for the wildlife living around us!

Location along Eagle Creek or inside the park, TBD depending on weather, terrain conditions, and tracking substrate. Location will be shared with registered participants prior to the date.
