Description
Capture the likeness and personality of your subjects in this portrait painting class using photographic references. Learn the essential techniques for translating a photo into a compelling painted portrait, including proportions, facial features, color mixing for realistic skin tones, value, and brushwork. Along the way, you'll gain a deeper understanding of composition, lighting, and how to bring life and character to your paintings. Working with your own reference photos or instructor-provided images, you'll build the skills and confidence to create portraits you'll be proud to display.Oil is the preferred medium for this class but students can also work in acrylic if they choose.
