In this class, you’ll learn how to combine these two mediums to create stunning effects, whether you’re aiming for loose, expressive styles or more detailed designs. We’ll cover techniques like ink line work, watercolor washes, and how to layer the two for dynamic, eye-catching pieces. By the end, you’ll have some unique creations and the know-how to keep exploring this versatile combo.
Topics Covered
Objectives of this class will be to explore both ink pens and brushed ink, navigate starting with an ink drawing and adding watercolor and also working backwards- adding ink to a watercolor painting. You will learn techniques in both mediums, and how to overlap them and explore your own personal style while also seeing examples from hundreds, even thousands of years in the past where these two mediums collided! Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and individual guidance from the instructor.
