Instructors: Orchard Marketing & Communication Director James Layne and Orchard Makerspace Coordinator Scott Weaver Two Orchard Owls are calling all skaters, creators, and thrill-seekers...Makerspace Coordinator (and master woodworker) Scott Weaver and Communications Director (and lifelong skater) James Layne are teaming up to bring you a totally rad and unique skateboarding camp! In the Orchard Makerspace, you’ll design, build, and customize your very own skateboard from scratch. Get hands-on with shaping your deck, and bring your style to life with a custom graphic you’ll create yourself. As you build, we’ll dive into the influence of skateboarding on culture, style, and other wheeled sports. And on the final day of camp, we’re heading to the skatepark to put your new board to the test! Whether you’re a first-time skater or already love to ride, this camp is where creativity, craftsmanship, and skateboarding collide! Camp tuition includes a materials fee.
