Description

Board Game Club provides a welcoming space for ALL to develop critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through tabletop gaming. Explore a wide range of games—from classic strategy games like chess and checkers to modern board games that emphasize collaboration, creativity, and decision-making.
Each meeting typically includes game introductions, rule explanations, gameplay sessions, and group reflection. Members are encouraged to try new games, teach others, and work both competitively and cooperatively depending on the game format.
Goals of the Program Promote strategic thinking and problem-solving skills • Encourage positive social interaction and teamwork • Build communication and sportsmanship • Provide a fun, inclusive, and low-stress recreational environment • Expose participants to diverse styles of board games and gameplay mechanics
Typical Activities Game rotations (trying different board games each session) • Mini-tournaments or friendly competitions • Cooperative team challenges • Student-led game teaching sessions • Game design or “create your own board game” projects (optional extension)
Ideal ParticipantsThe club is open to all experience levels—no prior board game knowledge is required. It is designed for individuals who enjoy games, social interaction, and light-to-moderate strategic thinking in a relaxed group setting.
