About this event

Description

Forest School brings learning beyond four walls, allowing children to explore, discover, and connect through hands-on experiences in a natural, woodland environment. Urban Forest School is the same idea with a few creative tweaks and an extra dose of exploration. This program is designed to discover the pockets of nature in the city by visiting various Indy Parks locations. Lead by an Indy Parks naturalist, families can meet weekly to engage in nature exploration activities like hiking, hunting for bugs, creek stomping, and shelter building. Sessions will continue throughout the seasons to deepen the nature connection.
This program will be held rain or shine. Registration is recommended to receive information about each site, updates when inclement weather occurs, and other details about the program. Go to parks.indy.gov/programs and search "Urban Forest School" to find more dates and locations.
