Our meet-up group Paddles take place rain or shine unless unsafe (e.g. strong winds or thunderstorms). Free for members but membership and registration are REQUIRED. Those people needing to borrow club boats will meet at the CCE boathouse at 8:45 am. Paddlers need to be able to transport their own boats. We will meet at the parking lot at Kawaka lake and aim to be on the water at 9 am. Bring weather appropriate clothing, snacks and water. MUST register for club membership HERE: CCECanoeKayak.rampregistrations.com. Create an account if you don't already have one. Register as a participant. Choose Recreational Membership. Please indicate whether you need equipment when you register. Those that need equipment please meet at the Main Beach boathouse Friday Nigh at 7pm. You will need to have either roof racks or foam kayak supports and either rope or straps to tie your boat onto your car. Paddlers are responsible for transporting their own boat. Plan to be on the water by 9 am. If there are no registrations the morning of the event, or if the conditions are unsafe, the paddle may be cancelled. This is a meet-up paddling group - the leader/ coordinator is not an instructor. You are responsible for your own safety on the water and must have adequate skills. BEGINNERS and new members are required to take a lesson BEFORE attending a meet-up Paddle to ensure you have adequate paddling skills and are able to exit the boat safely.
