Instructor's Bio: Sarah Czopek is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LPC) who pivoted from an undergraduate career in classical voice and music business to then pursue her Masters in Professional Counseling from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Sarah is the founder of Grace & Gratitude Counseling, a niche practice of women serving women and teen girls with anxiety and trauma in the greater Chicagoland area. Dually certified in EMDR and IFS (Level 3), Sarah is passionate about blending these modalities along with creative elements into her work as a trauma-informed therapist, as well as providing interactive, experiential training and mentorship to other professionals.
Objectives: Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the core foundations of the IFS model.
2. Identify and differentiate Managers, Firefighters, and Exiles in self and others.
3. Recognize and cultivate Self energy as an internal resource.

Description: This three-hour training introduces participants to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model in a way that’s clear, grounded, and relatable to clinical work with generational trauma. Instead of treating “resistance” and “symptoms” as problems to fix, we’ll get curious about the parts of us that work so hard behind the scenes—our vigilant Managers, impulsive Firefighters, and tender Exiles—and the Self that can lead them with compassion. Through teaching, gentle experiential exercises, and real-world examples, participants will begin to recognize their own inner system and the systems they see in clients. We’ll stay safely in introductory territory (no unburdening work here), while still giving you a solid, clinically useful foundation in the IFS view of the mind and it's application to healing generational trauma.
