As a special opportunity, Nature Camp is offering any student enrolled in Nature Camp weeks 1 or 3 the opportunity of joining the week 2 Nature Campers as they journey to Pescadero Marsh and the town of Pescadero. Pescadero Marsh and the town of Pescadero. Nature Campers will start with a guided walking tour of the Pescadero March, then head to Harley Farms to learn about their sustainability practices, how goat cheese is made and meet the goats, and finally, Nature Campers will pick some berries. The Pescadero Marsh covers 235 acres and includes five distinct habitats--a tidal estuary, a freshwater marsh, a brackish water marsh, dense riparian woods, and northern coastal shrub. More than 200 bird species have been spotted in the Marsh, and approximately 60 of these build their nests there. The Pescadero Marsh is the only extensive wetland on the SF Peninsula and is located on the east side of highway 1.Nature CampParticipants should bring a lunch, water, and clothing layers.
