The Dwight Crum Pier to Pier Swim is one of the most popular ocean swims in the country. 2023 marks the 60th year that this annual swim has been conducted. The course for this challenging 2-mile rough water swim is from the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier to the north side of the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Any contestant who did NOT comptete in the 2022 Pier-to-Pier swim must pass a 500-meter "check out" swim. Dates for the check out swim will be July 15, 22 and 23 (between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.) on the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. Decision of lifeguards at "check out" is final. 2022 Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim finishers are exempt from the "check out" swim.
Online registration and payment must be completed prior to the check out swim. Entrants failing to meet the check out standards will be given a full refund. No other refunds will be issued.
