About this event
Supply Fee to the Instructor: $15 Discover the whole in the part. Learn about the significance of the mandala — a naturally occurring phenomenon in nature, and across cultures a symbol for the inner and outer world. Observe your surroundings and use mindful awareness to explore the abundance of shapes and patterns in nature to create mixed-media mandalas. Gather materials from the outdoors, then experiment with various printmaking techniques: rubbings, stamps, stencils, washes, and layered collage. Add details or additional elements with acrylic paints and markers. This class blends quiet observation with hands-on making — a chance to slow down, connect with the natural world, and create something both meditative and beautiful. What you'll explore: The history and symbolism of mandalas across cultures Mindful observation of natural shapes and patterns Printmaking techniques: rubbings, stamps, stencils, and washes Layered collage using gathered natural materials Adding detail and dimension with acrylic paint and markers No experience necessary — just an open mind and a willingness to slow down and create.
