As each piece is dyed and unfolded, unique patterns and textures emerge, making every creation truly one of a kind. Through demonstrations and guided instruction, beginners will learn the fundamentals of Shibori dyeing, while experienced fiber artists will have the opportunity to experiment with more advanced techniques and designs. Each class includes hands-on practice before students create their own individual projects. Participants will create a collection of silk and cotton Shibori samples, along with a hand-dyed 11" x 60" silk scarf and a 21" x 21" cotton neckerchief to take home. These beautiful textiles can be enjoyed as finished pieces or incorporated into future projects such as quilts, journals, tote bags, or home décor.
