About this event

Description

Online registration is not allowed for this activity. This a drop-in program. Fees, if due, are charged at the door.

Come join the DCVA for their 22nd Annual Stream Watch and help sample macroinvertebrates in the creek. These samples will be analyzed at next year’s Insect ID event held at the CREC. The DCVA takes samples from five locations along the Darby Creek: Bartram Park in Darby, the Swedish Cabin in Upper Darby, Darby Creek Road in Haverford (downstream from the Haverford Reserve), Skunk Hollow in Radnor, and the Brandywine Preserve at Waterloo Mills in Easttown.
This is a rain or shine event, unless the rain causes the stream to rise too high and be too fast to safely take samples.
If you want to get into the creek and help take samples, you will need a pair of hip waders. Unfortunately, the DCVA cannot provide these for you.
Lunch will be provided. Stay for the whole time or drop in whenever. If you cannot find the group at any point, call or text Alan Samal at 610-609-1601.
The full schedule, locations, and registration can be found on the DCVA’s website.
