Wilderness Navigation

Led and Instructed by Hiking Hound Adventures

Build the skills you need to confidently find your way in the outdoors. This introductory wilderness navigation course covers topographic map reading, compass use, route planning, and basic land navigation.

Participants will put their skills into practice during an outdoor compass activity, learning how to use these essential tools in a real-world setting.

You will receive a welcome letter 3-4 days before the start of the program with detailed information about what to bring, where the program is, and more.
Hiking Hound Adventures Weather Policy: Our courses and trips happen rain or shine. Please remember to dress for the weather and be prepared to embrace the adventure. In the event that the weather poses a serious hazard, we will make a go/no go decision onsite, at the time of the event.
