Join EWMW visiting artist Alexandria Couch for a 1-day workshop designed for adults and multi-generational collaborations. In this workshop, participants will engage with the use of collage, applique and embroidery to explore identity, storytelling, community building and personal archives through visual imagery and pattern. There will be a small introduction followed by a hands-on workshop where participants will have the opportunity to design, decorate and sew their own applique ornament by hand. They will be encouraged to draft ideas that are personal and meaningful to them and think creatively about how those elements can be distilled into imagery. Premade templates will be available for those who want more guided direction. All materials provided.
