Get the best of both worlds with JMC Hybrid Camp! Campers will kick off the Great Outdoors-themed week with two days of Day Camp before heading out for a three-day, two-night overnight adventure from Wednesday through Friday. This exciting week combines nature exploration, hands-on STEAM challenges, and outdoor recreation for an unforgettable overnight experience! Campers will learn about sustainability, build their own solar ovens to make s’mores, develop map-reading and navigation skills, and tackle creative outdoor challenges along the way. JMC will be based at Camp Gunnison for the entire week and will have exclusive use of the facility! Nestled along the Gunnison River, Camp Gunnison will serve as our home base for a week of exploration, learning, and outdoor fun. JMC staff will transport campers from the Western Colorado University campus to Camp Gunnison at 9 a.m. on Monday through Wednesday and campers will return to the WCU campus by 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, campers will remain at Camp Gunnison for the overnight adventure until JMC staff transports them to campus by 5 p.m. on Friday. During the overnight experience, campers will stay in comfortable dorms with access to a full-service dining hall, bathrooms, and showers. Days will be filled with JMC Great Outdoors activities, while evenings offer time to relax, roast marshmallows, and build friendships alongside JMC Instructors.
